In Dorset, you can refer a client for an appointment via the energy referral line – 01929 775500 (this line also accepts self-referrals).

Outside of Dorset, you will need to contact your local Citizens Advice.

Free training offer to external organisations

Purbeck Citizens Advice is funded to give free energy talks and training to front-line staff and volunteers.

Living in a cold home has significant impacts on mental and physical health, and at worst it can lead to death.  Deaths from cold homes in the UK are higher than deaths from road traffic collisions, drug abuse, or alcohol abuse, although it’s largely a hidden problem because we don’t always see our clients at home.

 Help your clients save money on their gas and electricity bills through learning about:

• energy comparison searches

• different payment methods

• behavioural changes

• funding and grants for insulation and boilers

• debt write off and other schemes to help those struggling to pay to heat their homes.

 

We currently have funding to deliver training to front-line staff and volunteers across the following areas:

  • Dorset Poole & Bournemouth
  • Wiltshire
  • Swindon
  • West of England
  • Gloucestershire
