Citizens Advice Purbeck is able to offer a full advice service during the Covid-19 period thanks to the ongoing commitment of 25 trained volunteers, working alongside the local charity’s staff. Despite having to cease face-to-face appointments, advisers are available on the phone or via email for all those who need help.

The charity supports clients across the Purbeck area from Wool to Upton and from Wareham to Swanage, and everyone in between. In the last year it provided much needed advice to over 1400 local Purbeck residents.

 Richard Holman, Chair of Trustees

Chair of Trustees, Richard Holman expressed the Trustees’ appreciation:

“We are so grateful for our dedicated volunteers helping people across Purbeck – we could not provide such a high level of quality and service without them.

They have readily adapted to new ways of working and still continue to provide much-needed advice and support to our local community in a difficult time.

Many local residents are facing major changes in their lives as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak. Our advisers can make a real difference, helping them find a way forward, and improving their confidence and wellbeing.

I couldn’t be prouder of our team!”

Advisers have been helping residents with many questions on work and employment such as being furloughed or having their hours reduced. Advisers are also able to help residents check their eligibility for welfare benefits such as Universal Credit and Council Tax Support.

Anyone living in Purbeck can contact the charity on 01929 551913 at any time and leave a message with their details.
