Good to see over 2100 local residents during Big Energy Saving Week in January. Our advisers are encouraging you to save money on heating costs with three simple steps.

Discover if Check, Switch, Save can help you pay less for your energy:

1. Check your meter and bills regularly to make sure you’re paying the right amount;
2. Look to see if a tariff or supplier switch would save money; and
3. Save energy by making sure walls and lofts are well insulated and unused appliances are turned off.

“It’s important to keep warm at home – the NHS recommends 18-21°C, or 65-70°F – but this can sometimes be unaffordable,” commented Helen Goldsack, Chief Officer, Citizens Advice Purbeck.

“Energy suppliers charge different amounts depending which tariff you are on, and being
proactive means customers can make sure they’re not paying more than they should. People
may also be unaware of schemes like Warm Home Discount which could help.”
